Support USB interface for video cards

TOPIC: new categories of hardware
STATUS: closed
PRIORITY: medium
Description:
Video cards with the USB interface exist (e.g. 17e9:028f DisplayLink HIS Multi-View II), but h-node does not allow choosing USB as the interface for video card entries.

Does DisplayLink HIS Multi-View II count as a video card, or is it just an adapter? Could you give another example of video cards with usb interface?

JeremyRand:
Hi ycp. I'm not sure I understand what you define as the distinction between a video card and an adapter; can you clarify? Other than the fact that DisplayLink HIS Multi-View II gets its input from USB rather than PCIe, it is functionally analogous to other 2D video cards such as 1a03:2000 ASPEED Technology, Inc. ASPEED Graphics Family, which is included on h-node. There are other USB DisplayLink video cards such as 17e9:02ee DisplayLink VGA Display Adapter, and I believe there are other vendors that make similar products, such as Trigger, Fresco, and SiliconMotion.

JeremyRand: I'll add USB interface to video card when I get around to it. Feel free to follow up here if I haven't done it. It should be fairly similar to this commit: https://git.savannah.nongnu.org/cgit/h-source.git/commit/?h=h-node&id=12fbb1f3b66763060b929b83147b19e964e63ced feel free to send a patch to h-source-users@nongnu.org if you want. it's the manual testing that takes up most of the time for these seemingly trivial changes, so if you'd like to add some tests that would be highly appreciated.

*Similar to that commit sans the adding return types and removing unused array parts.
